  • Pepper, George H., and F. R. Swanton – 1898 – Pueblo Bonito Field Notes

This notebook contains 2 typewritten sections. Section One is Pepper's excavation and room descriptions from the 1898 season (64 pages). Section Two contains the field notes of F. R. Swanton for the same season (19 pages). Both sections contain room dimensions as well as narrative descriptions of room contents and excavation procedures. There is a note inside this notebook, which says: "Correction - J. (John) Reed Swanton. See: - James Snead. "Ruins and Rivals." - e-mail Harvard University Library in biography file. Harriet Burdock 2004." This may be a correction for the attribution of these field notes to F. R.
